We are permitted to operate in the Lolo National Forest where a full range of hunting is offered … from archery to rifle hunts for elk, deer, bear, moose, and big horn sheep. Dan and his guides will take you by horseback into the heart of the mountains where wildlife is abundant!

We hunt both public and private property in and around the John Long Mountain Range on the Lolo National Forest and Plum Creek Timber Lands. These mountain ranges consist of open meadow rangeland to high grassy south slopes and heavily timbered north sides, with deep canyons in-between. The elevation of this country ranges from 5000 to 8000 feet. The mountain ranges we hunt are complete ecosystems for elk, both whitetail and mule deer, moose, and sheep. This means out hunting takes place on both summer and winter ranges. Our hunting trips include both early archery and general rifle season. Winter lion and spring bear hunts are also available with good success on both. We pride ourselves on a success rate of up to 60% on both elk and deer depending upon the weather and the physical conditions of the hunter. We offer three types of hunts from out guest ranch or from our pack-in camp. Our two-hunters-per-guide trip is our most popular. For the real serious trophy hunter, we offer one guide per hunter. This type of hunt offers the hunter full attention from his professional guide. Our last type of hunt is our semi-guided hunt. This hunt is the same as our other hunts except we do not go with you everyday. The hunts are set up for five days from our guest ranch and eight days from our tent camp, but longer hunts can be arranged at additional cost. All of our hunts are fully furnished with food, cook, horses, and transportation to and from the Missoula airport.
